How Climate Change Affects Sustainable Beauty
February 12, 2019
We wanted to update you on some changes happening at KYPRIS.
First, we wanted to tell you how much we value and appreciate you and your patronage. Thank you for your dedication to sustainable Beauty.
You may have noticed that we have recently implemented a price adjustment, and we wanted to share with you some of the reasons for this change.
At KYPRIS we evaluate sustainability by considering the social and environmental impact of each ingredient and packaging component. We take into account how workers are compensated on farms or in labs, what chemicals they and the land may be exposed to while working, how the land and operation are managed, and how sourcing an ingredient impacts both the immediate and extended community.
For this and other reasons, our supply chain is very sensitive to climate change. We are deeply committed to the farms and coops and wild crafting groups we have relationships with and do not “supplier hop” as many companies do. We choose to remain to loyal to them, even as many of the ingredients sourced fluctuate in price and availability from year to year.
As a brand dearly committed to creating products with integrity and efficacy with as much kindness and equity down its supply chains, this is a volatility that we have worked carefully to manage. It is our hope that you proudly support these types of efforts as it is one of the beautiful faces of the brand. Pretty is as pretty does.
Again, we are so thankful for your continued support, and we are here to answer your questions as we continue on this journey to sustainable and kind beauty together.
With Love & Gratitude,
Your KYPRIS Family
